WHO WE ARE
THE HISTORY OF
LINCOLN COUNTY HOME BUILDERS ASSOCIATION
In 1973 a building moratorium was placed on the Oregon coast due to water/sewer situations. Several builders met and formed the Lincoln County Home Builders Association (LCHBA), which was officially chartered on September 24, 1973 through the Oregon State Home Builders Association (now called the Oregon Building Industry Association).
LCHBA was then able to successfully overturn the building moratorium through the aid of OSHBA.
Our membership is three fold: At the national level: the National Association of Home Builders; at the state level: the Oregon Building Industry Association; and our local level is, of course, the Lincoln County Home Builders Association.
Our mission is also three fold:
1. To associate the builders within its jurisdiction for the purpose of mutual advantage and cooperation;
2. To collaborate with all fields related to the building industry for the benefit of the industry; and
3. To assist in the accomplishment of the mutual objectives of the National Association of Home Builders of the United States and the Oregon Building Industry Association.
It is the goal of builders, nationwide, to ensure homes are built with quality, affordability and most importantly, with the comfort of the owner in mind. HBA members are kept apprised of upcoming changes in building codes, new products on the market and new construction innovations.
